Cardrona Safaris sets new records.

We aspire to the best and this season's hunting is testimony to that. Cardrona Safaris has the unofficial SCI #1 Red Stag at a score of 654.6 inches and was taken in early March by Prince Dimitrie Sturdza from Romania. The hunter and his companion spent five days hunting with us and as well as taking the worlds greatest red stag they were also successfull hunting a very heavy horned Elk, a second representative silver class Red Stag and a Tahr each along with some smaller game to add to the flavour of their time with us.

The weather was great and they got straight into hunting. The big stag was the prime objective and what a fantastic moment for us all when we realised how good this Stag was. What a special moment when the antler was measured two days later by a master measurer and recorded a new world record[unofficial] until ratified.

It is difficult to show all the features of this antler because of the excessive palmation and some say he looks like some kind of moose. No, we have bred this animal in NZ, he has 50 points and weighs 37lbs. He was ten years old and had finished his ability to pass on his genes. The trophy is safely in Romania and we are very gratefull of the respect and appreciation shown by the hunter.
